- A few potential hints at the Star Trek universe were found in JJ's Cloverfield marketing with Tagruato Corp. While the connections are not official, it is suspicious. (see Crossovers)

- The first teaser was released to the public, with a link to NCC-1701.com. Four video cameras appear to be receiving broadcast video from the construction site of the NCC-1701, and a small image of the ship's internal corridors makes a quick appearance.
